Smart Toilet System at SMRT (Buses) Bukit Panjang Intergrated Transport Hub (BPITH)

A complete set of smart toilet solution that integrate with the Smart Cleaning Specialist Platform across the entire Integrated Transport Hub.

6 types of sensors were deployed at BPITH to actively monitor the toilet/nursing room conditions. AST smart footfall sensor tracked/counted more than 70,000 toilet users (monthly average).

With the introduction of the Smart IoT Technology, BPITH management achieved the 5 stars Happy Toilet awards on August 2020 and was awarded the LOO awards for best toilet in Public Transport sector for 2020. This is despite the need for round-the-clock cleanliness at the MRT station toilets due to the high footfall/users at the station toilets.

Benefit and Outcome

  • Utilizing ML/AI algorithm technology enabled dynamic cleaning (anticipated) notifications on undesirable toilet conditions to promptly notify the service team, ensuring early intervention for unacceptable toilet conditions.
  • Significantly improved cleaners’ productivity and response time to attend to the toilet.
  • Improve customer/user feedback.
